Animated social media graphics are an excellent way to share your story with your customers. The animated videos grab your viewer’s attention and hold it.
Product uses and highlights and introductions and company values are popular themes for social media animated graphics. We’ll focus on them for this project.
We’ll be creating our videos in After Effects, exporting them, and then uploading them to your social media accounts to test them.
Heres an example of a thirty-second video you’ll be creating:
And how it looks when posted to Facebook. Notice how Facebook crops the status box to neatly fit your video.

Grading checklist

Animated Social Media Videos Best Practices
- Use a 16:9 size ration for your video
- 30 seconds or less
- Always tell a story
- Highlight one topic or subject only
- Use large headlines to grab attention
- One large photo or graphic to grab attention
- Brand your design with your client’s logo, typography, colors, layout, and repeatable design elements
- Don’t overdo the zooming and flying. Keep your message legible, professional, and calming
